exciting!

Peggy, Shelia, and I went to Sweet Salvage yesterday morning and something super exciting happened to me!

I had the privilege of meeting one of my styling/lifestyle/blogging heroes who is an editor and photographer!
I know!
It was awesome!

I’d read the night before, on Facebook, that she would be there – so I went to her blog and left a comment that I was one of her stalkers fans and was excited at the possibility of meeting her.

And then it actually happened!

Peggy and I got there about 45 minutes before the doors opened. We were holding a space in line for Sheila, who was coming separately. Peggy went to the car to deposit our coats and scarves, as it was warming up while we waited.

There is a sidewalk that runs alongside the store and is adjacent to the parking lot.  As I was standing there on that sidewalk, I see this woman get in the car that is right in front of me. I think, “What kind of crazy person would leave and give up that great parking spot now, only minutes before the doors open?”  I look closer and lo and behold, it is her!

It is Heather Bullard, the very woman I am hoping to stalk meet!

She has started her car and is about to back out when I wave her down, like the freak I am, and she smiles and graciously opens her window. Not the best thing to do when your stalker is coming towards you, but still, she does, with a big gorgeous smile on her face.

I introduce myself, and tell her how much I admire her and that I was so looking forward to meeting her.

She is A-Dor-Able and as kind and charming as can be. She tells me that she has completed her photoshoot of Sweet Salvage for the Spring issue of her Souvenir Magazine, is off to do another shoot of a home, and then has a 5:00 flight back home to California.

Darn! I was “this close” to invite her to dinner at my house. Oh well, maybe next time.

Then she confides that she made a purchase and asked if I wanted to see it? Heck yes, I do! She shows me a photo on her phone of a very cool big old wooden shield that has stars all over it. (BTW, you can see it now too, it’s on her Instagram page – link below) What do you know, she’s just like us – all excited by the hunt, the find, and deal, and the purchase. Love It!

She then asks what I’m hoping to find, I tell her a couple of things, and then she even lets me know where to look when I get in there. Too sweet!

So that’s the story of my brush with someone I admire. You should follow her too if you’re not already. Which you should be because I’ve told you about her before… Here, Here, and HERE!

So go check her out either HERE on her blog, or HERE on Pinterest, or HERE on Instagram, or HERE on her Styling/Photography site.  Yeah, she’s pretty great.

That way, when I do have her over for dinner and I tell you all about it the day after, you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about and how awesome I am to have had someone so cool to my home for a meal!

Oh yeah, we bought a bunch of stuff too. I swiped the interior and exterior Sweet Salvage photos from the Sweet Salvage Facebook page and blog. Plus I lifted the photo of Heather from her Pinterest page.

I bought that big cool silver (pewter maybe) serving dome that is in the first photo – there on the top shelf, next to the cute yellow cow, why didn’t I snag her, she is really cute!  I also bought the lovey transfer-ware platter in the second photo. In the third photo, Peggy bought the marmalade crock and I bought the vintage crystal door handle turned into a paper spindle. In the last photo, Peggy bought the darling little cloche in the lower-left corner.

As you might imagine, those five items are just the tip of our iceberg!

I checked your stalkee’s blog and saw the Country Living mag cover. Many moons ago, Tom had a couple of his home designs in Country Living. I think I may still have them somewhere.
