what the heck…?

I thought this was a cooking blog!  I know, I know – I haven’t posted a recipe in nearly a week. It’s not that I haven’t been cooking, it’s just that so many much more interesting things have been going on.  In fact, I was cooking up quiches like a fiend for the last couple of days but I won’t be able to post those recipes until after an article about their runs in the Arizona Republic food section in a couple of weeks.

Food editor, Karen, and food photographer extraordinaire, Michael, were here at the house this morning.  My plan to was to take pictures of Michael taking pictures of the food, but yeah, I forgot and just chatted it up with the two of them instead. Darn ADD gets me every time! 

I did snap a few photos of the quiches before they arrived, that is what you are seeing here. Michael’s photos make mine look as though a toddler took them  – C’est la Vie!

After we were done I drove over to my friend, Sheila’s, house to work out more details about our upcoming trip to the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena, CA.  And…. she gave me a present!  Check it out!

Adorable shopping aprons she found on Etsy – so we can hit the flea market in style and be 100% completely prepared!  Notice the little locker tags in the lower-left corners… too dang cute! Mine is the orange/green one.  We have decided that I am Louise (since that actually is my middle name) and that Shelia is Thelma. But then I remembered that Thelma is the one who hooks up with bad-boy cowboy, Brad Pitt.   Doggone it!  🙂
