pumpkin … maybe

Jarrahdale pumpkins9

Last year I drove up north to Freeman Farms in Chino Valley, Arizona to buy these Jarrahdale pumpkins. Then, after Thanksgiving, I harvested the seeds, dried them on a rack, and waited until this year to plant them.

Problem is, I planted them too late for Halloween.

This is what my “pumpkin patch” looks like as of today.

The first blossoms appeared, this week. Maybe, and it may be wishful thinking, I’ll have my own homegrown Jarrahdale pumpkins for Thanksgiving this year.

As always, I’ll keep you posted.

You didn’t tell the story of bringing home San Francisco pumpkins!

Well, I kinda did. Yesterday, I told how I found them at your corner market and that I smuggled three home in my (our) luggage. I just didn’t tell how I bought the first one, put it on your mantel and then decided that I wanted it and took it back from you. In my defense, I honestly don’t feel as though you appreciate or are as obsessed with blue/green pumpkins as I am! P.S. I did sorta replace yours for you though 😉
