My treasured 1st Edition of Mastering the Art of French Cooking
I’ve been meaning to do my own blog for at least two years now. I’ve consulted with professionals, looked at templates (so very many templates!), wondering if I really had anything to say that would be worth reading, and so on. So today, Sunday, August 16, 2009, at 11:13 AM, is finally The Day! My inspiration to make the leap?
My youngest, Connor, is leaving in two days for college. I saw Julie and Julia for the second time yesterday and wondered why I haven’t gotten on the bandwagon after all this time. And I’m going to need “something to do” now that I’m an empty-nester!!!!! So here we go…

You have a 1st edition? I am so envious, did you know that these are going for over $500? Recently found your site -very nice.
Wow, didn’t know that. I actually have a 1st edition of MTAoFC Vol 2 as well. But I wouldn’t sell either for any amount of money. My only regret is that I never had Julia autograph either copy for me. She did sign a few of her other cookbooks I have; Baking with Julia, The Way to Cook, and Cooking with Master Chefs. So I don’t know why I didn’t have the foresight to request her autograph on my 1st editions.
