rangoon

Before I begin my recipe post for the day, I want to say thank you to all of you who have reached out to me here, through email, phone calls, texts, and Facebook.  Your care, concern, offers of help, and well wishes for my speedy recovery make me humble and grateful to my very core. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You really know how to make a girl feel very loved! For updates, check out the bottom of this post and those in the coming days. xoxo

Here is another quick, easy, and super tasty holiday appetizer for you.

Crab Rangoon Dip

16-ounces (2 packages) cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup diced green onions
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 pound crab meat; such as Phillips brand from Costco

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, powdered sugar, garlic salt, and lemon juice until well combined. Gently fold in the crab meat.

Transfer mixture to an 8 x 8-inch baking dish and bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Serve hot or at room temperature with fried won-ton wraps, pita chips, and/or vegetables.

Update: The big news is that yesterday, I tricked out my walker.

styling walker

Yes, I have a walker, that’s how cool and hip I am! Best of all, I’m not just renting it. I own it! It’s all mine!

And now my awesome walker has tennis balls on it, just like any self-respecting walker should! Without the balls on the back legs, this puppy squeaks so badly, that it would drive a deaf man insane!

But the chances of you seeing me out in public using this thing are slim. As lovely and styling as it is, I just can’t imagine being seen using it. I’m 52 years old, not 92, for goodness sake!

The other thing I did yesterday was to abstain from taking any pain pills. I wanted to know exactly where all the pain was. Obviously, my left leg is nearly useless and barks at me constantly, but when I was doped up, I wasn’t sure what else may be hurting. Well, I found out!  Just about everything else on my body – neck, back, left shoulder, abs… yeah, it all hurts.

My “tough as nails” moment is over, today I shall at least take Advil during the day and continue to save the Percocet for the nighttime so that I can get a full painless night of sleep.

Peggy Sue!

Also, my BFF Peggy came over with lunch and then stayed and decorated my foyer and the banisters for me while I sat, giving directions and testing lights. I love that girl SO much! LOVE. HER. And, isn’t she just so beautiful?!?

There you have it, the update. Oh, and I’m contemplating adding a basket to the walker. That will really put it over the top. Keep your eyes open for a possible photo update.  🙂

I think we need some burlap & embellishments on that baby!

4 Linda Hopkins { 12.12.12 at 12:39 PM }

Oh yeah – burlap, bells, evergreens, glitter! We could do this thing up and give it the real “crazy old lady” look I’m going for!

I have more lights and ting ting for the walker! Its going to be beautiful!!!

What’s ting ting? I like the sound of it – Kinda like bling bling! 🙂

So you have the blinged out walker….what are you wearing to match it? xo

Sorry to hear that you hurt all over but glad you’re trying to keep your sense of humor. Be a good girl.

Lisa, my new uniform is dark grey yoga pants and a matching dark grey T. I am into grey and easy to get into and out of clothes!

10 Peggy { 12.12.12 at 5:18 PM }

Our next project , Linda, is to pimp your “ride”!

I’m going to resist mentioning 50 Shades of Grey and your quote above…. “into grey and easy to get into and out of clothes”. Well, I guess I’m not:) xo

I guess you’re not, is right! Your dirty little mind wouldn’t go there if you had to put on jeans or slacks with a fractured pelvis. Painful, I tell you!

Funny thing is, I got a 50 Shades reference in a text from Susie earlier this week… what’s wrong with my neighbor girls! 🙂
