summer whites
It’s the unofficial start of summer and time to wear your white shoes, linen, sandals, straw handbags, seersucker, etc.
And if you’re lucky, maybe you can take off to white sandy beaches…
If not, how about cooking up some white food? Need a little inspiration? I’ve got more than two dozen ideas for you!
- Oven-roasted haddock with beurre blanc.
- Egg white omelet, with salt, white pepper, Mozzarella, Havarti, Swiss or Goat cheese, and white mushrooms.
- Rice Noodle Salad with chicken breast.
- Cheese blintzes with horseradish sour cream.
- Baked or mashed potatoes with Crème Fraîche and white pepper.
- Sunchoke and Cauliflower Soup.
- Cannellini bean dip.
- Cheese tortellini with Alfredo sauce.
- Floating Island.
- Macaroni and cheese are made with sharp white cheddar.
- Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce.
- Risotto with Parmesan.
- Cauliflower and Crab Ravioli.
- Pizza with white cheeses and no tomato sauce.
- Crustless crusty white bread dipped into Gruyere and Fontina Fondue.
- New England clam chowder.
- Mashed Potatoes with Manchego and olive oil.
- Poached or baked fillet of white-fleshed fish with mayo and horseradish sauce.
- Herring in sour cream.
- Hot Buttered Cauliflower Puree.
- A salad of Belgian endive, peeled and sliced cucumber, jicama, hearts of palm, shaved Parmesan, and daikon radish.
- Vanilla Rice Pudding.
- Vanilla ice cream.
- Yogurt – plain, vanilla, or honey.
- Quesadillas with Asiago, Manchego, Mozzarella, or Fontini and sour cream.
- Marshmallows on sticks dipped in white chocolate and white sprinkles.
