personal day
Today I am not grocery shopping, chopping, dicing, sautéing, roasting, grilling, taking food photos, formatting those photos in Photoshop, typing a recipe, and then posting it all. Instead, I’m doing this super quick post and taking a “personal day”. Why not? I am self-employed and yet, for whatever reason, I have been imposing this “daily blogging” rule on myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, love the creativity and satisfaction of it, and I do it daily, because…I love it! But I need a little rest.
Yesterday I was checking my email, Facebook, and Twitter, as I do way too many times each day, and came across the most amazing blog. I found it through a tweet, from a recent addition to my Blogroll, (over there on the right side of this page) Food News Journal. The FNJ tweet had a link to a blog called the 5 Second Rule. I began to read and by the second sentence, I fell in love. In love with the writing style of the author, Cheryl Sternman Rule, you will too. Either click this LINK and it will take you to the particular post that caught my fancy. Or go to the Blogroll, that one on the right side of this page —> and it will take you to the 5 Second Rule home page. Read, laugh, drool, cook, and be sure and come back and thank me later! Just don’t get so hooked on her blog that you forget about mine, really, that would be rude! Rude and Sad!

Linda, you deserve a break. Love that you are taking a personal day. Don’t worry about the “5 second rule” blog. Addicted to yours too much to ever leave.
Hi my fabulous friend!! Read your blog this morning…(seriously, don’t faint)….good for you!…hope you had a well deserved day of rest. I did check out the “5 second rule” as you suggested and did enjoy her writing style. Especially the part about picturing someone from my past showing up outside my window who is and had been madly in love with me for years…and of course I return that love (duh that makes it happy) and we live happily ever after! Anyhooo! Back to food..I don’t think I will be able to make her recipe, too complicated for me…ha, but I think if you decide to try it, I will come over and test with you! ;0) Being in your kitchen is the best! (BTW thanks for feeding Stafford last week, lucky kid.) Ok, I have probably said enough here. Talk to you soon! Love your friend and Fan Forever…
Darling Anne, wow, what a comment! Love you too!
