my big YES
This is the blog post I’ve been putting off for weeks.
I’ve been struggling with how to begin.
I know it is what I want … and what I need to do, but…
OK, enough talking about it and procrastinating … I’m going to just rip off the band-aid and get it over with.
I am taking a break from blogging.
It is not permanent, it is just needed. I’ve been telling myself, “No, not yet.” But the answer is really, “Yes, it is the time!”
The scary part of taking a break is that after more than 5 1/2 years of blogging and building an audience, and a following, it is frightening to not post for any length of time. But fear is the absolute worst reason for not doing something you know you need to do!
I hope that while I am away, you’ll remember that the blog itself is still here. The more than 1200 recipes are still here for you to use and enjoy.
Most importantly, I want to thank you for following this site, whether you are a regular or you just come by now and again. I appreciate you and I truly appreciate your feedback and comments all these years! Thank you!
I’ll pop back in from time to time. Marissa’s shower in May, for instance. After the shower, I’ll post recipes and crafts, and then I’ll go back into hiding until the time is right to come back refreshed and ready to blog full-time again.
In the meantime, if you haven’t already subscribed to this blog, this might be a good time. That way, when I pop back in, you’ll receive an email alerting you to a new post. The place to subscribe is at the top right of this page. All you do is type in your email and press “sign me up.” Easy Peasy.
Again, thank you, and talk to you soon! xoxo

I will miss your blogs!!! I get recipes from your website frequently! xoxo, Angie
I could cry! Your blog has kept me going while I have been out of the country and feeling like I was still a part of your everyday life even though we don’t live right down the street from each other anymore.
That said, I know how much you probably need to do this right now my dear friend, and what a hard decision it is for you. I am proud of you and hope you enjoy every single minute of the coming months. Please check in from time to time- we will all miss your daily presence in our lives and always be thinking of you! Xoxoxo
I so understand the feeling you are going through…yes, it is time!
Thank you… Linda, for blogging all your recipes, I so often go to your index for something new to make. I enjoyed you sharing your adventures, the last with Marissa and Jeff moving from SF to Austin, and before she met Jeff you took Marissa to her new adventure in SF. Wow, time flies. I know we never met, but I feel I got to know you and your family. You are a wonderful teacher and a wonderful story teller! I will miss your blogging, but (yes) you will be back! Linda, enjoy the next few months being the mother of the bride-to-be. You will have a lot to do, and I’m sure all your time will be concentrating on making your Missy May-May (love her nick name) a very special day!!! Keep in touch! Xoxox…Yes, enjoy your hiatus from blogging!
Ladies, thank you for your sweet comments and support. It means the world to me. xoxo
