daybed
Long before there was such a thing as Craigslist or Offer Up, I bought a cute little white iron daybed from a classified ad. It was used for guests and sleepovers. The bed sat up in the playroom for many years. I disposed of the trundle-bed portion about 8 years ago.
Reluctantly, I put it in my March garage sale. As the second day came to an end, I put out a sign saying, “All you can carry for $20,” I decided I couldn’t let the bed go for that. Now, I’m using it on the new patio.
As you can see from the photos above, it used to have and needed to have a dust ruffle to cover the black metal frame. But the last thing I need for it to have on a dusty Arizona outdoor patio is a dust ruffle. Yuck!
Since the bed has some gold accents, I decided to spray paint the black frame gold. I think it works.
I’ve ordered a mattress cover from Cost Plus World Market to make it look a bit more tailored and make it easier to keep clean.
I’ll show you that update when I post about the entire patio and backyard makeover/remodel later this week. I hope you’ll come back for the big reveal!
