summer wreaths and flowers
This is one of the two wreaths that had been hanging on my front doors ever since October 2011, well with the exception of the month of December when Christmas wreaths were briefly there. It had become somewhat of an embarrassment when spring hit, but I had tossed my old worn-out spring/summer wreaths and I just couldn’t find new ones I liked to replace them. So the very “fall-ish” wreaths remained, pheasant feathers and all! Until Saturday, that is. On Saturday, the Fed Ex truck delivered the two new wreaths I found on One Kings Lane! So, I packed up the fall wreaths and hung out the new ones, just in time for summer cooking classes.
From a distance, they may look a little “Christmasy”, all red and green. But up close…
… come closer…
… there, now you can see the pomegranates, chili peppers, artichokes, eucalyptus, sage, oregano, salal, ammobium, and avena.
So much better! If you would like to check out One Kings Lane, consider this your invitation. CLICK HERE and if you decide to buy something, you’ll get $15 off your first purchase!
Then – this morning – I was looking out my kitchen window and overnight all my gladiolas had opened up! But it was so windy, that they were bending and breaking. That means one thing, time to make a flower arrangement!
And if you look to the left top of the photo above, you’ll see that my canna lilies are going crazy with blossoms too. Perfect!

Those flowers are beautiful!!!
Wow, you already have gladiolas, one of my mother’s favorites, mine too…Beautiful Canna lilies, another favorite of mine! I have to wait until August to see lilies and gladiolas in bloom. My peonies are ready to bloom, maybe tomorrow…If only I planted all my favorites plants in my backyard…. only wishful thinking…For me, your backyard is a dream come true
Thank you Dagmar, what a sweet compliment. I adore peonies, take a picture of them and post it on Pinterest! I’d love to see them. xoxo
gorgeous flowers! I never think to plant gladiolas and I love them too; well after hydrangeas and peonies, and roses and… 🙂
The wreaths you have hanging on your door are really beautiful. I especially like the artichoke hearts, chili and red peppers. Your glads are gorgeous! I planted a few one year, they bloomed and were very showy, but, they never came back. So sad. I will have to try again!
