I need a cocktail…

Seriously! This is not a want, this is a need.

Construction, permits, late sub-contractors, inspections, failed inspections, rescheduling, early morning noise, dirt constantly at the front door, men, some men who act like little boys, “the city” and re-inspections.

I’ve been up since 5:45 AM, it is now 7:00 … and I need a cocktail! I did not have any alcohol (meaning a glass of wine with dinner) last night or the night before or the night before that. I am overdue and entitled!

I am going to throw caution and good sense to the wind and imbibe in a morning drink – I deserve it and I believe it will make construction more bearable.

The recipe is based on one I saw in a women’s magazine while at the hair salon yesterday.

Balsamic and Elderflower Champagne Cocktail

1/2 teaspoon high-quality balsamic vinegar, divided
1 tablespoon St~Germain Elderflower liqueur
Ice cold sparkling wine or champagne
Lemon twist

Pour 1/4 teaspoon balsamic vinegar into a champagne flute. Top with St~Germain and then with sparkling wine.

Pour remaining 1/4 teaspoon balsamic vinegar on top and garnish with a twist of lemon peel. Enjoy as you thank God it’s Friday!

Patti, you go girl! I’m sure Marissa will be sad when she sees that you’re at it at 4:30 and she’s still at work. But, no doubt, she stays up longer than us and will still be at it while we snooze. Have a great weekend!
